Gmail attachments and Google Docs are a perfect match. Rather than having to constantly download and upload files, you can transfer your Gmail attachments straight over to your Google Docs without ever leaving your web browser. You will then be able to access the files from any computer with an Internet connection. The attachment must be in a file format that is compatible with Google Docs. Photos, videos, music and other media files cannot be accessed with Google Docs. Google Docs is available to anyone who already has a Gmail account.
Scroll down to where the attachment is listed at the bottom of the email.
Click the "View" button. The document will open within Google Docs in a separate browser tab.
Click the "Save in Google Docs" button in the top-right corner of the screen. A yellow dialog that reads "Saving" will appear at the top of the page. Do not close this browser tab until the dialog reads "Saved!"
