Tips to Import .TGZ to Gmail

A tar, or .tgz file, is a collection of other files used with the Linux operating system. These files often contain important documents or scripts, and users often back them up for safekeeping. You can back up your .tgz files to your Gmail account by sending an email to yourself and attaching the .tgz file along with it. This way, if you ever need to retrieve your .tgz file, you can do so using Gmail's built-in search feature.

Log in to your Gmail account and then press the "Compose" button located on the left-hand side of the page.

Enter your email address in the "To" box and then press the "Tab" key.

Type a description of the email in the "Subject" box and then press the "Tab" key.

Describe the contents of the .tgz file in the "body" area of the email if desired.

Click the blue "Attach a file" link to open the "Select Files" dialog box.

Navigate to the directory that contains your .tgz file and then double-click to select it.

Click "Send" to complete the process.
