Transfer Old Gmail Account to New One

If you've switched from one Gmail account to another, you can use Gmail's POP3 mail retrieval feature to automatically download every email saved in the old account and transfer them to the new account. This requires only the login information for both accounts and some knowledge of Gmail's Settings screen.

Tell your old Gmail account to make all its mail available via a POP connection. From Gmail's main screen, click the gear button, then click "Mail Settings." Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab, then select the "Enable POP for All Mail" radio button and click "Save Settings."

Log into your new Gmail account and open the "Settings" menu again. This time, select the "Accounts" tab. Click "Add a Mail Account You Own," then enter the address of your old Gmail account and click "Next Step."

Enter your old account's username and password, and select "Pop.gmail.com" from the "POP Server" drop-down menu. Click "Add Account."

Wait for your email to transfer. If your old Gmail account contained many messages, this may take a while -- up to several hours. With time, however, the entire contents of your old account will be transferred to your new account.
