Some email service providers, such as Google’s Gmail or Yahoo mail, offer a built-in tool on their user interface that allows account holders to easily import email contacts from an alternate email account. You may also use the TrueSwitch email migration tool developed by the Esaya Incorporation for this task. Many email service providers partner with Esaya to offer their customers a way to automatically copy personal data, like email contacts, from one email account into another.
Log into your Gmail account.
Click the pinwheel located in the upper right side of the window. Select “Mail setting” options.
Go to “Accounts and Import” settings. Select “Import mail and contacts.”
Follow the prompt to import your contacts from another email account to your Gmail account. Google can also import contacts from AOL, Cox, Comcast, CS, Earthlink, GMX, Windows Live / Hotmail, MSN, Juno, RR, Verizon, Yahoo, and Yandex.
Transfer Email Contacts Using Yahoo Mail
Log into your Yahoo mail account.
Open your “Contacts.” Select “All Contacts” from the “View” options.
Go to the “Tools” menu. Select “Import.” Click “Gmail,” “Windows Live Hotmail,” or “Others” depending upon the type of email account you would like to import contacts from.
Put a check mark in the box next to the type of email account you would like to import contacts from. Yahoo can import email contacts from another Yahoo! account, Hotmail, Windows Live, MSN, Gmail, AOL/AIM, Orkut, Microsoft Outlook, AppleMail etc, Comcast, Earthlink, Freenet.de, Laposte, Verizon, and “Web.de.”
Fill in the login credentials for the account. Check the box next to “I give Yahoo! permission to send my user name and password provided above to TrueSwitch…” Click “Continue.” Follow the remaining prompts to import your contacts from another account into your Yahoo Mail account.
Transfer Email Contacts Using the TrueSwitch Tool
Go to the Esaya TrueSwitch secure transfer Web page.
Put a check mark in the box next to the “Terms of Service” acknowledgment statement. Click “Begin.”
Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your email contacts from one account to another. Among others, TrueSwitch supports migrating email contacts from and into Yahoo mail, Windows Live, Hotmail, AOL/AIM, Verizon, Comcast, ATT, Cablevision, Charter, Cox, CompuServe, Earthlink, Time Warner, GMX, Juno, and PeoplePC.
