As you compose an email, you may find that your computer's keyboard may not offer enough choices beyond the standard numbers and symbols like #, & or %. A wider range of symbols and special characters, such as foreign alphabets as well as mathematical or currency symbols, are available. Windows or MAC systems each have unique ways upi can use to access these symbols and insert them into your emails or other documents.
Place the blinking cursor in the area of the email where you'd like the symbol to appear. For example, if you want to add a foreign currency symbol before a string of numbers, click in the space to the left of the first number of that string.
Look for the Edit menu in your browser window. If you're using the Windows operating system, look for the Insert option and select it by clicking the mouse once. If you're using a Mac, choose the Special Characters option instead.
Browse the many symbols on the menu and highlight the one you want to use.
Double-click on the symbol of your choice. It will then appear in the message you've composed. You can delete symbols and move them around according to your liking.
