Make Shortcuts With Logins to Yahoo!

Save time by accessing your Yahoo! email login page from your Windows desktop or even the Start menu. Shortcuts are nothing more than links to files that reside on your computer or links to website pages on the Internet. When you click a shortcut -- represented by an icon -- Windows opens a file, executes a program or sends your browser to a site on the Web. By learning how to add a shortcut to your Yahoo! mail login page, you can jump there instantly by clicking your shortcut.

Open your browser and navigate to the Yahoo! email login page.

Copy the URL that appears in your browser's address bar at the top of the browser.

Right-click an empty area on your desktop and click "New" to display a menu of options. Click "Shortcut" to open the "Create Shortcut" dialog window. Paste the text you copied into the "Type the Location of the Item" text box.

Click "Next" to continue. Type a name for the shortcut in the "New Internet Shortcut" text box and click "Finish." Windows places a new shortcut icon on your desktop. Click the icon. Your browser opens your Yahoo! login page.

Tips & Warnings

You can also place a copy of the shortcut icon in your Start menu. To do this, right-click the icon and click "Copy." Right-click an empty area on the desktop and click "Paste" to paste a copy of the icon. Click that icon and drag it to your Start menu button. The Start menu opens. Drag the shortcut icon to where you would like it appear in the Start menu.
