Unsubscribe From Yahoo! eMail Ad

Yahoo! email automatically places certain ads that it deems particularly relevant to you along the side of your email screen. Yahoo!'s "Privacy" page says that Yahoo! figures out your interests based on how you use its sites and services and sends you related ads. Some users may find the ads irrelevant or annoying and would prefer to unsubscribe from them. You can opt out of these ads with a simple account setting.

Launch a Web browser and visit email.yahoo.com.

Enter your Yahoo! email information into the provided fields, including email address and password. Click "Sign In."

Copy and paste the address "http://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/opt_out/targeting/details.html" into your browser's address bar to get to the "Yahoo! Privacy Ad Interest Manager" page. Since you're already signed in, you won't need to provide any further account information at this point. On the upper left side of the page it will display a message saying "Hi (your name)," which signifies you're signed in to the Yahoo! network.

Navigate to the lower right portion of the screen where the heading "Interest-based Ads" appears. Click the yellow button labeled "Opt Out" underneath that heading. This prevents you from receiving all Yahoo! email ads.
