Solar Balls for Swimming Pools

It seems that every year, when our private swimming pool opens for the summer, we must bear the sting of cold water that has not yet had the chance to warm up. Various methods are used to keep swimming pool water warm, but most of these are expensive or simply too bulky. Solar balls have become an inexpensive and easy alternative for private pool owners.

Easy to Use
Instead of having to unroll a massive solar heating pool cover, these balls can be placed inside the pool skimmer. They are small and easy to use and you won't have to worry about the cumbersome handling of a pool cover. One ball will cover 400 square feet of a pool's surface as well as 12,000 gallons of water.

How it Works
The solar ball works from the basket in the pool's skimmer. It emanates a special nontoxic film across the surface of the water. The film of the solar balls work by preventing evaporation of the water of the pool, as evaporation is one of the causes of a pool's water cooling. These solar balls also help to trap heat in the water.

Where They Are Used
Solar balls can be used in both freshwater and saltwater. They are for pools of all types including those in-ground and above ground. These solar balls are most commonly used in pools in cooler regions of the country where pool water doesn't heat as easily, or for early springtime when pools are just beginning to be opened for summer swimming.

Special Functions and Directions
Some of these solar balls have a special time release delivery system when they distribute the film into the pool. They are safe to use with any automatic pool cleaners and do not interfere with this process. The balls should be replaced every 30 days to achieve the most effective use, however they continue to work the entire 24 hours in a day.
