Best Tips to Power Slide Longboard

Skateboarding Longboards are great for feeling the same sensations and wild rides of surfing, but on the concrete streets of any city or town. Whether riding some downhill, cruising, carving, or sliding, longboarding is a sport that requires skill, but pays off if you give it time and dedication. One of the most convenient tricks for a skateboarding longboard is the power slide, used to stop your board. However, this trick is a little difficult and should be attempted only by skaters who are comfortable on their skateboarding boards.

Gain a moderate amount of speed on your board on a relatively flat stretch of concrete (as fast as possible while still maintaining control).

Position your feet on the board so that each one is over a truck.

Transfer the bulk of your weight to your front foot on the board. Do not shift too much, as this will result in an unbalance that will most likely tip you off the board.

Swing the back wheels of your board ninety degrees, which should result in your longboard being positioned horizontally beneath you. Your wheels should be dragged along the concrete, do not remove them from the ground.

Lean back. This will create more force, pushing your board against the ground, and gradually slowing your speed to a standstill (thus completing your power slide).
