The Perfect Blend of Beauty & Magnificence

Are you a true art lover? If you are a Bengali and an avid reader of literature, then certainly it can be difficult for you to deny the excellence of one of the greatest poets named Joy Goswami. He is considered as one of the best poets after Jibananda Das. Being a devotee of Joy Goswami, I will encase today how magnificent he is and why exactly it is difficult to stay away from his charm of poetry and novel as well.

If you go through the internet, read journals, follow numerous social pages of Joy Goswami, then it is not difficult for you to know when he was born, what awards he has been won till date etc. Yes, we all know that he was born in Kolkata in the year 1954, November 10. He was first introduced and came close to the world of poetry by his father. When he was in grade eleven, his formal education had been stopped. However, by that time he has already started writing poetry. His poetry publication started through little magazines, but a huge critical acclaim he first received through his publication in Desh Patrika. He has won many awards till date including Anita-Sunil Basu Award, Ananda Purashkar and Sahitya Akademi Award.

From Christmas o Sheeter Sonnetguchchho to Protnojeeb, Aleya Hrod to Unmader Pathokromo, Bhutumbhogoban, Ghumiyechho Jhaupata, (1989), Jara Brishtite Bhijechhilo, Santansantati, Moutat, Maheswar, Sakalbelar Kobi, Mrito Nagorir Raja - whichever composition you pick you only find a searching soul who approaches the same horizon from diverse paths. However, these paths only take you close to new windows of surprises and elucidatory expressions. His writing touches every chord of human emotion and takes one to the world that has never discovered before.

"Not all but some are poets".

The above-mentioned quote is actually the ideology of the great poet Jibananda Das and it made Joy Goswami believe that poetry is an instrument that life is blessed with.

Being greatly inspired by Rabindranath Tagore, Jibanananda Das and Sankha Ghosh, Joy Goswami allows the colorful vibrations of life seep through him and then repaints that in words.

According to him, everything is possible in poetry, just like the dream. When you read his piece of writing you can understand how beautifully life has been knitted together with the dream, emotions and fragile feelings.

In his prose named Monoromer Uponyas, Bhramma Rakshas, Hridoy Premer Shirshe etc. you can find a surreal and dreamlike ambiance again with a murky melancholic feel.
