Google Analytics is a great tool to track incoming traffic to any website across the Web. Although Facebook blocks analytics code in pages, you can use a workaround to track the traffic to your Facebook page through Google Analytics.
Go to google.com/analytics. Click "Access Analytics" and log in to your Google account.
In the orange bar at the top click the drop-down menu that says "Select an account." Click "Create new account." Fill out your new account information, using "facebook.com" as your URL. Enter an account name, choose your time zone, and click "Continue." Fill out any additional required information, including your name, and agree to the User Agreement.
Find your Google Analytics tracking ID in the box of code on the next page. Your tracking ID will begin with "UA" followed by several numbers and dashes (Ex: UA-12345678-1). Select only your tracking ID, right-click, and select "Copy."
Get your Image Tracking Code
Go to http://ga.webdigi.co.uk. In the "Analytics Code" box, right-click and select "Paste," to put your Google tracking ID number here.
Enter "facebook.com" in the next box titled "Domain on Analytics." In the "Page Link" box, put a forward-slash followed by your unique Facebook page URL. For example, if your Facebook URL is facebook.com/mypage, enter "/mypage" in this box.
In the last box, titled "Page Title," enter the title of your Facebook page. Click "Generate Code." A new box of code will appear below the form.
Right-click inside of the new box and click "Select All." Right-click again, and select "Copy."
Set up Facebook
In a new browser window, go to your Facebook page and log in. At the top-right of the page, click "Edit Page." In the left menu, click "Apps." From the list, find your FBML app and select "Go to App"
Place your cursor at the end of the text in the FBML box. Right-click and select "Paste." Click "Save Changes."
Your Facebook page is now ready to be tracked through Google Analytics. Check your Google Analytics account after a couple of days to verify that traffic shows up.
