Best Facebook Posting Ideas

You want to avoid the usual "what I had for breakfast" and "work is so boring today!" posts and make your Facebook stand out; but sometimes it can be hard to think of anything to say. You can make your Facebook a fun and interesting place to visit with status games, videos, news and Web links.

News
News posts can generate interest and debate. As well as posting the latest headlines, you can explore stories in more depth. Look for the background of news stories -- if it's a new scientific discovery, search for information about the original research using details from the story such as the name of the institution or the researchers involved. If something important has happened elsewhere in the world, look for news reports in the local media for that region. Overseas papers generally have an English version online. Post links along with your opinion on the situation.

Reviews
If you enjoy television, the cinema, books, games or music you can turn your interests into Facebook posts. As well as linking to reviews from magazines or websites, write your own. Use your status to post quick reviews in one or two lines or write full-length reviews and post them as Notes. Add links to photos, trailers and screenshots from official sites to flesh out your reviews.

Videos
Sharing cute or interesting videos that you find online is a great use of Facebook. Find videos via YouTube or other video sharing sites; on weblogs and through your friends. News sites often have a section on the latest popular videos. You can make your own videos to share on Facebook; record your pets or children having fun, or pick something that you're great at and make a how-to video.

Promote Your Business
If you have a small business, you can promote it through Facebook. You can't post business links from your personal profile as Facebook considers this spam, but you can create a page for your business and suggest that your Facebook friends "like" it using Facebook's Like function. Post pictures, updates and links to online sales on your business page. Make videos about your business and the work you do, then share them via your page.

Jokes and Status Games
You can write your status messages in code, in symbols or upside-down using online text converters such as Funicode. Share jokes and funny quotes and invite your friends to do the same. You can use your Facebook status to play games, such as the Number Game. Private message a friend and give her a random number; she must then post that number on Facebook with an honest opinion about you. To play the Literary Game, pick up the nearest book to you, turn to Page Step 5Step 6 and post the fifth sentence on the page as your status message, along with an explanation of the game and a request for others to play.
