The standard Facebook profile is a white background with blue borders. However, it's possible to change your profile's background by installing a Facebook app. Facebook apps are programs written by third-party developers. These unofficial apps can be installed on your profile, creating a myriad of possibilities for backgrounds from favorite pop stars to floral displays. If you want to delete the background from your profile, delete the app that created it.

Step 1
Log in to Facebook.
Step 2
Click "Account" at the top right and then click "Account Settings."
Step 3
Click "Application Settings" in the left column.
Step 4
Click the app you want to remove. Look for an app with "layout" or "background" in the name.

Click "Remove app."
