Ways to Ask Girl to Prom

There are certainly many ways to ask a girl to the prom. You may have your own ideas of what would work best. It is your chance to shine in the eyes of that special someone, if you are able to ask her to the prom in a very unique and memorable way.

The Cute Route
Make sure you have a good rapport with your prospective date. Make sure you look nice when you pop the question. If she’s repulsed by the way you look, it will be awkward for you to hear a resounding “no” in front of all your buddies. Unless you are a bold soul or you were tipped off by a friend that she really likes you, you may wish to use the cute route with caution. Here’s an example of a cute way to ask for the date: Make seven notes with one word each: “Will,” “You,” “Go,” “To,” “The,” “Prom,” “With,” “Me?” Tie each note to a string and attach it to the girl’s locker. As she reads the last note, approach her and wait for the answer.

Be Romantic
There is always the old standby method of giving a girl flowers or chocolates along with a greeting card. However, you may want to be more original and exciting. Pull from your own strengths and talents. If you know what she likes, use it to your advantage. Do you have the ability to play an instrument or sing? Compose your own tune, if you can. Write a poem, because with the right words, you can melt a girl’s heart and make her sigh before she utters, “Yes, I’ll go with you.” If you can dance, do so. How can she resist such a bold move?

Secret Admirer
If the girl you are asking to the prom is already your girlfriend, chances are she’s planning to say “yes” regardless of your method in asking her. If you only know the girl by seeing each other in the hallway or sharing a class together begin by sending her notes months before prom. Give the notes to a close friend and perhaps a mutual friend who will give you feedback along the way, as a gage to how she is responding to your messages. Enlist the help of your friend to arrange a blind date between you and the prospective prom date. When the lucky girl arrives at the destination, have a bouquet of flowers in hand and ask her to the prom, on bended knee.

Have Some Fun Together
To the extent that your time and budget will allow, consider taking your prospective prom date out for some fun. The good thing about going out is that it’s a good icebreaker, no matter how well you may know each other. There may be a carnival in town, or a circus. A dinner and a movie is a safe move, but if you want to be more adventurous, you might want to go bungee jumping. Whatever you do, plan to show her a good time and a glimpse of how much fun you can have together. She will be more prepared to say “yes” to a prom date, if you have already spent time together having fun and being adventurous.
