Create Your Private Blog

When you create a blog, it's released into the virtual world for anyone to read. However, some people prefer to keep their thoughts to themselves. If you are planning on using your blog as a private journal or diary, or if you only want to share it with a small group of friends, colleagues or classmates, Blogger.com allows the requisite level of customization.

Create a Blog or Sign in to an Already Existing Account
Begin your task at the Blogger.com home page.

Register for a new blog by clicking on the 'Create Your Blog Now' link or sign in to a previously registered account with your username and password.

Create an account by providing an email address, entering a password, coming up with a display name and accepting the terms of use and clicking on the 'Continue' link.

Name your blog and determine an address for your blog. Continue on to choose a blog template.

Edit Your Blog's Settings
Start from your blog 'Dashboard' to edit and make changes. This will be your blog home page when you are logged in.

Click on the 'Settings' link inside the 'Manage Your Blogs' box.

Find the 'Permissions' tab and corresponding link in the 'Settings' area and click on it.

Create a Private Blog on Blogger.com
Choose if you want only one or multiple authors on your blog. Click on the 'Add Authors' link if you want to allow others to post. Only the person who created the blog will be able to post unless you indicate otherwise.

Determine who can view your blog. Click on the radio button to indicate 'Anybody,' 'Only People I Choose' or 'Only Blog Authors.' Anybody can read your blog by default.

Invite others to read your blog by inputting email addresses and clicking on the 'Invite' link, or leave this field blank to create a completely private blog.
