So good to virtually meet you all! My name is Anna, blogger behind In Honor of Design. As I recently mulled over my having a multi-faceted life, it was a really great way for me to stop and think about just how different each person’s story is. Here is mine in a nutshell…
I stumbled into blogging through my love for all things design. I was a freelance graphic designer looking to
stretch my wings beyond my day to day deadlines, and so I began IHOD at the end of 2009. What I wasn’t expecting is that it would become such a great community, and a place where many opportunities would unfold. Some of my favorite projects to date have been exploring Atlanta through the Local Notes series, costume styling for Martha Stewart, a patio makeover challenge with Home Depot, and even being a part of The American Blogger documentary. Its been an adventure to say the least!
However, the coolest aspect is being able to look through the pages of my blog and see how life has shifted and changed, and it is all captured through the time capsule of a blog. Now being able to experience motherhood to three little ones, marriage and family are becoming more frequent topics, and their appearances usually end up being reader favorites as well (like this post on Max’s first week of life, or this post on dating through marriage). If you really want to get a taste what our family life is like I wrote “A day in the life” post that should sum it up:)
I now run a series of workshops called The Brand Market across the country to help creative entrepreneurs make their businesses successful. Its become a passion to enable as many people as I can to chase the American Dream.
I am so thrilled to get started here and share some of the fun things I have up my sleeve for style and beauty how-tos. This has been a main theme on my blog since the start, and is something I love to see worked into every aspect of life. Wish I could shake your hand and give you a warm smile, because that is how we great people here in the south! Cheers!
