A blog is short for "weblog." Writing a blog, or "blogging," has become a popular way to express opinions, make new friends, stay in contact with friends and family, post photos and videos, or to make money. Blogger, owned by Google, is one of the most popular weblog services on the Internet. It's very easy to create and start a new blog; plus, it's free! Using Blogger, you can create a blog, and customize the look of your blog to reflect your style.
- Go to Blogger.com and click "Create a Blog." Enter the required information. You must have an active email address to register for a Blogger account.
- Name your blog. Realize that your blog will have the suffix ".blogspot.com" appended to it. When you have entered your blog address, click the "Check Availability" link to see if your url has been previously claimed. Click the "Continue" button when you are ready.
- Choose a blog template. Click the links below the photo thumbnails to preview the templates. Click "Continue" when you are ready.
- Click "Start Blogging" on the next page. You will be directed to the "New Post" page of your new blog, where you may now write your first post.
