Facebook, the popular social networking site, enables you to use your profile in different languages to help you communicate with friends more efficiently. As a result, you may need to use accented characters to express yourself clearly. For example, you can insert either a grave or an acute "E" on your user name, within personal messages, in wall posts or in chat messages.
Sign in to your default Facebook account.
Navigate to or select the field where you wish to input an accented "E." For example, to add it to your user name, click "Account" from the top portion of the page and select "Account Settings." Otherwise, compose a new message, wall post or initiate a conversation using the Facebook chat window.
Press and hold the "Alt" key, and then type "0200" using the keyboard keypad. Release the "Alt" key to insert an uppercase grave accent, or "È." Alternatively, repeat the procedure while typing "0201" to produce an "É," the uppercase acute accent. Otherwise, type "0232" or "0233" to insert a grave or acute accent in lowercase, respectively.
