The standard Facebook profile page has a quick overview of basic information followed by photographs and a news feed. While the basic profile works well for most users, you might find that the bland white page doesn't show your true colors. Facebook apps aren't developed by Facebook; they are uploaded to Facebook by outside developers. While there are several Facebook apps that can change the format of your profile page, most of them require you to spam friends or install downloaded files. However, one app will change your profile layout without those potentially hazardous risks.
Log in to Facebook and then type "Change Your Background Layout" into the Search text box at the top of the page.
Click the "magnifying glass" icon to the left of the search box and then click "Apps" in the left hand sidebar.
Click "Change Your Background Layout On F4c3b00k" in the results list.
Click "Go to App."
Click the green "Install Plugin" button.
Click "install" underneath a design of your choice from those that appear on the screen.
