In addition to all the other features on Facebook, the website also allows you to play a number of games. Developers create applications for facebook that you can install to your profile and play with your friends. Some of these games have become massive hits that eventually started to span between platforms, such as "Farmville." At their heart though, Facebook games are social, so you need to know how to get your friends involved, in order to enjoy them to their full potential.
Install a game that you want to play. Follow your friends newsfeeds, or check out their wall and see if they play any games that you're interested in. Add the application to your Facebook profile when you find a game you want to play.
Invite the friends that you want to add to the game, once you've initially added it to your profile. Some games give you the option to invite other friends on Facebook to play the game with you, so check the boxes of the friends that you wish to invite and add a personal message to the invitation -- if you want to encourage them further to accept the invite.
Open up the game application. Most games will have a control at the top of the game screen where you can add neighbors, or something similar. Click on this button to start playing the game with your friends who already have the application installed.
Click on the "Invite friends" or similar button in the game interface, when you have added new friends to your Facebook profile. Since you wouldn't have been able to invite them when you originally started playing, manually invite new friends, as you make them.
