Personalizing your Facebook Timeline with a large cover photo as the background to your facebook profile picture adds flair to your page. It is easy to upload and set a cover facebook photo, and only a few steps are required.
Log in to your Facebook account and click your name to switch the view to your Timeline. Click "Add a Cover" if you do not have a cover photo or hover over the existing cover photo and click "Change Cover."
Choose the option to upload a new file or choose a photo from your photo albums on Facebook. Browse to the photo you want to use and choose the photo.
Click the image and drag it up or down to position it exactly where you want it to appear on your Timeline and click "Save."
Tips & Warnings
The Facebook cover photo is 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall. The site recommends you use a photo no smaller than 720 pixels wide.
If the cover photo you upload is less than 720 pixels wide, Facebook stretches it to fill the space. This can result in a distorted version of the picture.
