From birthday parties to charity events to student protests, many Facebook members use the popular social networking site to publicize a variety of public happenings. If you're event doesn't take place on a specific date, however, consider creating an "ongoing" Facebook event. By creating an ongoing event, you can advertise a specific affair for several months. The process is hassle-free and can be completed in a few steps.
Go to Facebook and log in to your account.
Click the "Events" link on the left side of the page, and then click the "Create an Event" button.
Click the calendar icon in the "When" field and select a start date that that is several days earlier than the date you are creating the event. For example, if you are creating an event on August 17, 2011, set the start date to August 10, 2011 or earlier.
Click the "Add end time" link and select day, month, year and time you want to end the ongoing event.
Enter a detailed description for your event, and then select the guests you want to invite to your ongoing event.
Click the "Create Event" button. After creating the event, it will be listed as "ongoing."
