How to Link Facebook Status Posts

At one point, sending a link to a Facebook status update was not possible. With updates to the Facebook user interface, however, this problem was eventually remedied. Each Facebook status update now has a dedicated permalink, so users can view a Facebook page containing only the update and the commnets that follow. This is especially useful for status updates that have long comment threads.

Sign in to your Facebook account at Facebook.com.

Scroll through the News Feed until you locate the status update to which you want to link. You can also find status updates on a Facebook user's individual profile page.

Click on the time under the post that tells you how long ago the post was published. For example, it might say, "14 minutes ago" or "August 13 at 11:57am." This takes you to a permalink page containing only the status update.

Copy the URL in the address bar at the top of your browser's window, then paste it into an email, IM or share it in another way with someone. You've successfully linked directly to a status update on Facebook.
