Disable Facebook Cards

Facebook offers thousands of third-party applications, including a number of greetings card apps that let you send customized electronic greetings cards to friends and contacts. A Facebook greetings card sent by another Facebook user might appear on your home page news feed or in your Facebook Messages in-box. To disable Facebook greetings cards, you'll need to block the application that sent the card.

Sign in to your Facebook account.

Type the name of the greetings card app into the “Search” input box at the top of your home page. Enter the specific name of the greetings card app to narrow the search results.

Click the “See More Results” link at the bottom of the search results context pane that drops down below the Search box. This opens the search results on a dedicated page, making it easier to view all search results.

Click the “Apps” icon button in the left-hand menu to filter search results to only show applications.

Click the “View App” button beside the greetings card app that you want to disable.

Click “Block App” in the left-hand menu of the application’s profile page. Blocking the app stops the app from contacting you or accessing your information.

Tips & Warnings

After disabling the app, you can remove any activity updates already added to your home page by clicking the "Arrow" button in the top right of the update and selecting “Hide Story.”
If you receive a request from a greetings card app asking you to install the app, you can block the app by clicking the "x" icon button next to the request and selecting the "Block App" link.
