As the host of a Facebook event, you can edit the event's details and invite people to attend it. You can also add other hosts. Use the Edit button on the event page to add hosts. You can only add hosts to an event using the Facebook website. The official Facebook app for mobile devices does not offer this functionality, as of publication.
Add Hosts to an Event Using the Facebook Website
Step 1: Click Events on the menu along the left of Facebook.
Step 2: Select the event to which you want to add a host. If you are attending multiple events, click the Hosting tab to just display events you are hosting.
Tip
You can only add hosts and invite people to an event when you’re using Facebook as yourself. If you also manage a page, for example, you can’t add hosts or invite people when using Facebook as your page. To switch to your personal account, click the down-facing arrow in the top corner of Facebook and select your name under the Use Facebook As heading.
Step 3: Click the Edit button located near the top-right corner of the page.
Step 4: Type the name of the person you want to add in the Hosts field, select the person’s name when it appears on the pop-up and then click Save to finish adding the host.
Tip
When you add a host to an event, you also give this person the ability to invite attendees and to edit the event page and details. Because of the administrative capabilities given to hosts, only add people who you trust.
Editing Events
Use the Edit button on the event page to modify other event details as well. You can change the event name, description, location and time. You can also update the level of privacy using the Privacy pull-down menu at the bottom of the dialog. Privacy options include Public, Open Invite, Guests and Friends and Invite Only.
Tip
Remove the check mark from the Show Guest List box on the Edit Event Info dialog if you don't want people viewing the page to know who's attending your event. Visitors will still be able to see the number of people attending but not who is actually planning to attend.
Warning
Avoid inviting too many people to an event, particularly if you know they are unlikely to attend. Events that invite too many people are often reported as spam and can be removed by Facebook for being in violation of the platform's terms of use.
