Link Barcode to Facebook

Unlike the standard UPC bar codes you can find on products at the supermarket, QR codes can contain up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters, which is more than enough to store a link to your Facebook page or profile. Using a dedicated app, users can scan QR codes and that automatically direct to the website whose link is embedded in the code. Placing a QR code containing a link to Facebook on a physical object — such as a poster, T-shirt or bag — can help bring additional traffic and Likes to your Facebook profile or page. Create a QR code that directs to a Facebook page or profile by using one of three free online QR code generators.

QR Stuff

Step 1
Visit the QR Stuff home page and select Facebook under Data Type.

Step 2
Select whether you would like to create a link to Facebook or a link that prompts visitors to Like your page or profile, and enter your Facebook page or profile URL in the text field.

Step 3
Save, print or email the QR code you just created by clicking one of the buttons under Output Type.

Tip

By default, QR codes are black on a white background. Select a different foreground color for your code by using the color picker under Foreground Color.
Free Barcode Generator

Step 1
Visit the Free Barcode Generator home page and enter your Facebook profile or page's URL in the text field.

Tip

Optionally, edit the QR code's size by entering a different value in the Size of Generated Barcode field. Since the default value is 100, entering 200, for example, would generate a QR code that is twice as large as the default one.
Step 2
Click the Make Mobile Barcode button.

Step 3
Save the QR code to your hard drive by right-clicking the image and selecting Save Image As.

Tip

If you want to embed the QR code on a Web page, copy the HTML code displayed on the page and paste it into the page's source code.
QR Code Generator

Visit the QR Code Generator website and select the URL icon under Type.

Step 2
Enter your Facebook page or profile URL in the Website Address text field.

Step 3
Select Download to save the code as an image file. Alternatively, click Embed and copy the code in the pop-up frame to embed the QR code in an email or on a Web page.

Tip

Clicking either Download or Embed opens a new pop-up frame that lets you edit your QR code's appearance and size.
