Comments are a way for people on your friend list to leave feedback about your Facebook profile's content, including the photos you upload. While you cannot hide only the comments on a photo, if you hide a particular photo album all of its contents -- including photo comments -- are kept private. Either make your albums private to only your friends, or hide them from specific people.
Log in to your Facebook profile and click on the "Account" link at the top of any Facebook screen.
Choose "Privacy Settings" from the "Account" menu.
Click the "Customize settings" link at the bottom of the "Sharing on Facebook" group.
Scroll down to the bottom of the "Things I share" section on the "Customize Settings" menu. Click on the "Edit privacy settings for existing photo albums and videos" link.
Click on the gray icon beneath a photo album and select "Friends" to hide your album from everyone but your friend list. Click "Customize" if you want to narrow the privacy even further. Enter the name of a friend list or individual friend in the "Hide this from" section to keep the photos hidden from those friends.
Return to the "Customize Settings" menu and go to the "Things others share" section. Click the gray "Edit Settings" button next to "Photos and videos you're tagged in" and use the gray icon to set a privacy level for images you are tagged in.
