Tips to Do Facebook Animals

Send animal emoticons when you instant message with your friends on Facebook chat. The chat feature has been programmed to display little graphic animals when you type a combination of symbols, such as a pig, a shark and a penguin. With emoticons, you can show a friend how you feel rather than tell them through text. And although there are no programmed emoticons for status updates or comments, you can still make animals for other parts of Facebook with ASCII art.

Click on a friend's name from the chat sidebar to open a chat window. The chat sidebar includes a list of friends from your friend list. If you can't see the sidebar, click on the chat bar at the bottom right corner of your Facebook page and the sidebar will appear. If the friend you want to chat with is not listed in the sidebar, type their name in the search bar at the bottom of the sidebar.

Type the combination of symbols to make one of the Facebook chat animals. "<(")" makes a penguin. "(^^^)" makes a shark. "3:)" makes a pig.

Type the rest of your message, and press "Enter."

Tips & Warnings

If you want to make animals for your status updates or comments, you can use punctuation keys to create animals such as a bunny:
(\__/)
(='.'=)
(")_(")
This is referred to as ASCII art. You can create your own ASCII art animals as well as copy and paste the symbols into your status update.
