Facebook might encourage a culture of collecting friends, but there's something to be said for keeping your friends list short and your news feed clean of updates you aren't interested in. When it's time to delete someone from your list, there's no need to head to a computer -- just open the friends list in the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Open the More tab in the Facebook app and tap Friends to see your complete friend list.
Search your list to find the person you want to unfriend. Press the Friends button by his or her name -- don't tap on the name itself, which just opens the friend's profile.
Press Unfriend to remove the friend. There's no warning, so as soon as you press the button, your Facebook friendship comes to an end.
Alternatively, if you just want a break from someone's posts, choose Unfollow instead. This option hides your friend's posts from your news feed.
Tap Add if you unfriend someone by accident. The Add button won't instantly undo the mistake, but it sends a new friend request.
After you leave the friends list, the removed friend won't show up on the list again, so make sure to re-add any accidental removals right away. If you don't notice until later, search out the person's profile on Facebook and send a request from there, as you would with someone you're friending for the first time.
