The photo thumbnail previews on Facebook are arranged in a way that allows users to make a banner at the top of the profile page's Wall. While the page appears as a mostly solid block of an image, these banners consist of the thumbnails for five separate photos. Certain Facebook applications offer selections of pre-made banners that can be added to a profile once the app is connected to the user's profile.
Locate a banner for your profile. Browse through the default third-party Facebook app's page at apps.facebook.com/profile-banner, or search Google for "facebook banner" to view a list of websites that offer profile banners. Top results include FBanners, My Facebook Banners and Blingify.
Click the "Add to Profile" link near the banner. You will be automatically redirected to the Facebook app.
Enter your Facebook account information if you are not already logged in.
Review the app's privacy and profile sharing information. Click "Add to Profile." The app will begin uploading and tagging you in the pictures to create the banner at the top of your Facebook profile page.
