Facebook text messaging allows users to take the Facebook experience wherever they go. Users who subscribe to Facebook text messaging can receive real-time text notifications detailing friends' wall posts, status updates and pokes. While some Facebook users value these up-to-the-minute alerts, others may find them overwhelming and unnecessary. If Facebook text notifications aren't for you, turning them off is an easy task. Choose a deactivation method to stop receiving notifications via text.
