Remove Google Toolbar Error Message

Error messages related to the Google Toolbar generally appear if you are using a Web browser that is not supported or if you are dealing with a malfunctioning toolbar. If you are dealing with a malfunctioning toolbar, the easiest way to remove the error, as Google recommends, is to uninstall and install again.

Determine whether the Google Toolbar Error Message is web-browser specific. If you are using an AOL or MSN Explorer Web browser, this error will persist since these browsers are not supported by the Google Toolbar. If necessary use a different browser.

Download the newest version of your current Web browser. For most browsers, access the "Help" menu and select "Check for Updates".

Restart your Web browser and see if the error persists.

Launch the Web browser where the Google Toolbar is installed and click on the Google Toolbar icon, denoted by a blue wrench.

Click on "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu options. Select the "Uninstall the Google Toolbar" option.

For Firefox users, click on the "Tools" menu, click on "Add-ons", click on the "Extensions" tab and select "Google Toolbar for Firefox." Click on "Uninstall."

Uninstall through an alternate method. Access the "Add/Remove programs". Click on the "Start" menu, select "Control Panel" and select the "Add / Remove Programs." Select the "Google Toolbar" item from the list of programs and click "Remove."

Install the Google Toolbar again. Access the direct link from the Resources section of this article.

Click on the "Install Google Toolbar" button, click on the "Agree and Install" button, and finish the installation by clicking on the "Install Now" button.

Restart your Web browser and if necessary, restart your computer.
