Specifications of Babolat Racquets

sBabolat is the oldest racket and stringing company in the world. The company has made strings and tennis, badminton and squash rackets in Lyon, France, since 1875. Many modern professional tennis players have used Babolat rackets.

Production
Additional production sites beyond the Lyon facility are in Ploermel and Besancon, France. Babolat has six commercial subsidiaries: France, United States, Germany, Austria, Italy and Spain. It has 100 importers and distributors worldwide, as well as a commercial presence in more than 20,000 shops and 30,000 tennis clubs.

China Counterfeits
China produces counterfeit rackets, many of which are sold below wholesale price on eBay or other auction sites. While these rackets may look almost identical, the materials used to create them are anything but. If you have any concerns about the authenticity, ask for the racket's serial number, and then contact Babolat to confirm if it is real.

Considerations
Babolat has U.S. operations in Boulder, Colo. Babolat's global presence helps it equip 20 percent of the professionals on the men's and women's tours, including, as of November 2010, top-ranked Rafael Nadal and Caroline Wozniacki.
