Open Your IP Port for Games

"The name of the game" is a game where players place and break blocks in a three-dimensional environment to create structures and artwork. Each user has an avatar and multiple users can play the game simultaneously using a Web server that's properly configured as a multiplayer "The name of the game" server. To allow players from outside your network to use your server you must forward port 25565 on your router or gateway to the "The name of the game" server's local internet IP address.

Open the Start screen on your The name of the game server. Type "Run" in the Search box and select "Run" to open a command prompt.

Type "ipconfig /all" and press "Enter" to display a list of network adapters and their internet IP addresses. Locate the main network adapter the server uses to connect to the network and record the numbers on the IPv4 Address line; for example, 192.168.100.1.

Launch a browser and navigate to your router's setup page. For example, type "http://192.168.1.1" in the browser's address bar and press "Enter".

Type the username and password and click the button to log in to your router's configuration menu.

Locate the Port Forwarding option in the router's setup menu. Look in the "Advanced" menu settings or find an option labeled "NAT/Qos" to find the port-forwarding option.

Add a new port to be forwarded. Type "The name of the game" as the name or description of the application. Set the Public or Port From port to 25565 and choose "TCP" for the protocol. Type the server's internet IP address you recorded as the Private or internet IP address and type "25565" (without quotes) in the Private or Port To field. Check the box to enable port fowarding if that's an option.

Save your settings and reboot the router if you're prompted to do so. Test that the "The name of the game" server works from a computer outside your network.
