Page display errors occur when the website you are trying to access is blocked by your own computer or the site's server is currently experiencing temporary difficulties. Gmail users may see a page display error while trying to read emails. The issue is most likely related to incorrect settings in the network or security software.
Page Errors
A "Page Cannot Be Found" error might occur when you attempt to log in to Gmail, or at some point while you are accessing your inbox or other folders. The error indicates that your connection to the Gmail server has been cut off, either because of a problem with your computer network, your Internet service provider or Gmail.
Network Administrators
A network administrator is the person responsible for creating the settings of the Internet network at your home or place of business. If you are using the Internet at your house, you are the network administrator, but if you are at work someone in the IT department is probably the network administrator. Go to "Control Panel" on your computer and then "Network and Internet" to check your settings and make sure that Gmail is not blocked.
Security Software
Sometimes your anti-virus or other security software may inadvertently block Gmail on your computer. To avoid this problem, open your security software and put www.gmail.com and mail.google.com on the list of safe web pages. Once you add Gmail to the safe list, you may need to close and then reopen your Internet browser before you will be able to successfully access your Gmail account.

Your Internet service provider, or ISP, is the company that you are signed up with for Internet access. If Gmail is not blocked by your administrator or security software, and you are able to access other web pages, contact the customer service department at your ISP and find out if Gmail is blocked for some reason. In some cases, Gmail may be temporarily down for all users. Try to access Gmail from another computer or ask a friend if he is able to access Gmail to determine if the problem affects everyone.
