Gmail includes a very easy-to-use export feature. You can use this function to export a Gmail user's email contacts to your computer. Gmail allows you to export the addresses in multiple CSV formats or as vCard for mobile devices. It only takes a few minutes to start exporting the contacts. It may take quite some time to finish the download however depending on the number of contacts.
Open a Web browser on your computer. Navigate to the Gmail website. Login to the user's Gmail account.
Click the "Contacts" button on the left side of the page. Click "More Actions" and then choose "Export."
Choose if you want to export all contacts or just a specific group of contacts. Select the export file format you want to use.
Google recommend that you use the "Google CSV" format if you plan on transferring the contacts to a Google device otherwise it recommends you use the "Outlook" format.
Click the "Export" button. The export file begins downloading automatically to your computer. The file will appear in the "Downloads" folder you have selected for the computer.
