Upload Contacts to Your Gmail

Gmail is a popular web-based communication tool created by Google. In addition to sending, receiving and storing email, Gmail provides highly effective spam blocking, comprehensive search functionality, extensive categorization and labeling features, a built-in chat feature, and many gigabytes of storage space. The application also makes it easy to quickly import contacts from more than 50 supported email providers.

Log into your Gmail account.

Access the import feature. Click the "Settings" link near the top-right corner of the Gmail window, then click the "Accounts and Import" tab on the following screen. Find and click the button labeled "Import mail and contacts" to start the import process.

Enter the email address from which contacts will be imported and click "Continue."

Enter the password for the email address provided in the previous step and click "Continue."

Specify your import options. By default, Gmail tries to import your contacts, all of your existing email messages, and all of the new messages that arrive in your inbox for the next 30 days. Check only the "Import contacts" option to upload your contacts to Gmail, then click the "Start import" button.

Finalize the import process by clicking the "OK" button once it appears on screen. Imported contacts appear in Gmail immediately in most cases.
