Upload iPhone Contacts to Gmail

Users, especially those with long contact lists, want the ability to access their information on all their communication platforms. If you collect a new email address when you're out and about with your iPhone, you may not remember to manually add it to your Gmail contacts at home. After high demand for a way to easily sync one's contacts between the iPhone and Gmail, Apple and Google have automated the process of uploading your iPhone contacts to Gmail on a Mac or PC.

Plug your iPhone into your computer with the USB iPhone cable. The contacts should sync automatically. If you see a prompt asking you whether to sync, do so.

Open the "Address Book" application.

Click the "Address Book" menu in the upper left hand corner and select "Preferences."

Check the box marked "Synchronize with Google" and enter your Gmail username and password.

Exit out of "Preferences." Your contacts will now sync between your iPhone and your Gmail account.

On a PC
Plug your iPhone into your computer using your USB iPhone cable. The contacts should sync automatically but follow the prompts if the program has you sync manually.

Open iTunes.

Click on the iPhone icon in the lefthand pane of the iTunes window.

Under the "Info" tab, check the box marked "Sync Google Address Book Contacts" and enter your username and password.

Click "Sync."
