Write HTML Email in Gmail

If you are a Gmail user and want to write and send HTML emails, you can do so by modifying your settings. Enabling this feature lets you customize the appearance of your outgoing emails and receive emails displayed in HTML format. You may change such options as your font type, font size, indentation and alignment. In addition, this feature allows you to insert emoticons into your outgoing emails.

Visit the Gmail page (see Resources) and sign in to your account by typing your username and password in the "Username" and "Password" fields, respectively, and clicking the "Sign In" button.

Select the "Compose Mail" button located under the Gmail logo on the top left corner. You will be redirected to the Compose Mail area.

Select the "Rich Formatting" link located under the "Subject" box to make the HTML features appear. Click on the "Font" button to select your preferred font type.

Type in the blank area and add any HTML features you would like your outgoing email to have. For example, if you want to add an emoticon, place your cursor in the area where you would like to insert the emoticon and then click on the "Insert Emoticon" button.
