Changing your email ID password is essential to the upkeep of your email account. Changing your password periodically is a great security measure to take in the event that someone gains access to the password to your account or you forget it. You should never write down your email password, and you should choose a combination of numbers and letters to make it more difficult for someone to hack into your email account.
Visit your email provider website and access the "Mail" icon.
Sign into your email account and access the "Member Center" or your "Account Profile" tab. If you've forgotten your password, select "Forgot Password" from the sign-in screen to start the process. You may be required to answer security questions to validate your identity.
Select the option "Change Password" inside the Member Center.
Type your current password in the appropriate field, followed by your new password. Confirm your new password by retyping it, in the appropriate field.
Click "Save" to activate your new password.
Return to the email home screen and sign into your email account using your new password to confirm the password changes.
