eMail Webpages From Site to Friend

Some web browsers format email messages with the contents of a web page with a single click. Web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Safari have "Send Page" or "Send Contents of This Page" commands on the browser's File menu, and the Firefox browser has the same capability after installing a downloadable plugin. Another way to send a web page to a friend involves saving the page file to your computer and attaching it to an email. This method works well for people that are more comfortable sending emails with attachments or that do not want to clutter an email with HTML and other source code from a web page.

Open a web browser and navigate to the page that you want to send to a friend.

Select "Save as" or "Save page as" from the browser's file menu at the top of the screen. This launches a dialog window with input fields that establish the storage settings for the web-page file.

Type a name for the file in the filename text box on the "Save as" dialog window. Give the file a relevant and meaningful name, so you can locate and identify the file quickly. Verify that the extension at the end of the file name is ".html" or ".htm".

Select a storage location in the Save as dialog window. Select a storage location that you know how to access, because you need to locate that file to send the web page to your friend. The computer's desktop is a convenient location to store files for immediate use, because desktop files correspond to icons on the computer's primary display.

Click "OK" or press Enter on the keyboard to confirm and save the file.

Launch your email application or navigate to your online email account.

Open a new email message, and type your friend's email address in the "To:" field.

Click on the "attach" or "attachments" command on the new email message. This launches an attachments dialog window all the storage locations on your computer, and any external storage devices that are connected to the computer.

Navigate to the location where the web-page file is stored by selecting the location on the attachments dialog window. Click on the drop-down menu icon if you do not see a list or diagram of storage locations on your computer. Alternatively, type the name of the web-page file in the search box on the attachments dialog window and set the search preferences to search all locations.

Click on the web-page file to select it, and confirm the selection by clicking "OK" or pressing Enter on the keyboard.

Send the email to your friend by clicking the "send," "send now" or "send email" command on your email message.
