Email clients such as Outlook Express typically add information such as date, time and account name to printed documents by default. Yet print details can add unnecessary clutter to emails when you print them. If you do not want date stamps and other tidbits of information in your email printouts, there is a way to remove them. Outlook Express does not make it easy since it does not have a print or page setup. But you can still print cleaner emails with the help of Internet Explorer or other web browser.
Launch Outlook Express. Click to open the the email message you want to print.
On the message menu, click "Message" and "Forward As Attachment."
Enter the email address you use in Outlook Express in the "To:" field. Click "Send."
On the main window, click on "Send/Receive." Outlook Express will send and download the message. Open the new message you sent to yourself.
Launch Internet Explorer.
Click "File" and "Page Setup." Under "Headers and Footers," select "Empty" for all the header and footer lists. (If you use a version older than Internet Explorer 8, delete the text you see in the header and footer boxes). Click "OK" to save your changes.
Go back to the open message in Outlook Express.
Click on the file attachment. Drag and drop the file into the Internet Explorer window. The message will display in the browser window, ready for printing.
Select "File" and "Print" to print the email.
