Tips to Add E-Mail Footers

An automatic email signature adds a bit of character to your messages. Whether you are going for a professional look or for something more casual, virtually all email services offer the ability to customize the text within your email footer. Common email signatures include your name, your job title, your cell or office phone number, your personal or company website, and/or links to your social media pages. All of the three most popular email services have simple email signature tools built into their settings menus.

Gmail
Click on the gear-shaped icon in the top-right corner. By default, the "General" tab should be selected.

Scroll down to the "Signature" section. Select the radio button beside your email address. If you have multiple email addresses associated with your Gmail account, select one of them from the drop-down menu.

Type your signature into the text field provided. When finished, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click "Save Changes."

Hotmail
Click the "Options" link in the top-right corner of the screen. Select the "Mail" tab from the left sidebar.

Click the "Personal Signature" link within the main panel.

Type your signature into the "Personal Signature" field. Save your signature when finished.

Yahoo Mail
Click the "Mail Options" link in the top-right corner. Click "Mail Accounts."
