Create New Username for Yahoo eMail

If you have Yahoo! Mail Plus, you can create up to 500 disposable email addresses to protect your existing Yahoo! Mail account. The new username is not a separate Yahoo! Mail account or Yahoo! ID but a different email address that you can use to send and receive email. The emails that you receive addressed to a disposable email address go directly to your primary Yahoo! Mail inbox, allowing you to organize your inbox and deter spam. If a disposable email address begins receiving spam, you can delete that address, without interrupting legitimate emails. To create a new username for your Yahoo! Mail Plus account, you must use your Yahoo! Mail options.

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.

Click "Options" from the upper-right corner of your Yahoo! Mail page.

Select "Mail Options" from the drop-down list that appears.

Click "Disposable Email Addresses" from the left column and click the "Add Addresses" button at the top of the screen.

Select a base name and enter it in the corresponding field. Your base name must begin with a letter, be different from your primary Yahoo! ID and cannot contain symbols or spaces. Click "Next" to proceed.

Enter a keyword in the corresponding field. The keyword can represent the type of emails that you will receive, such as "School," "Shopping" or "Coupons."

Edit the options to suit your disposable email address. You can choose whether to send the email to a specific folder, assign a color code to the emails, edit your "From" name, adjust personal filters, activate spam filters and add notes to help remind you of the purpose of the disposable address.

Click the "Save" button to save the new address settings. You can begin using your new disposable email address.
