Yahoo! Mail's sidebar contains a default Facebook link that lets you chat with Facebook friends and post status updates once you've connected your Facebook account to your Yahoo! Mail account. If you no longer want the Facebook feature to appear in Yahoo! Mail, you'll need to remove the Yahoo Facebook app's permissions from your account.
Sign out of your Yahoo! Mail account, then sign in to Facebook.
Click on "Account," "Privacy Settings." Click "Edit Your Settings" for apps and websites on the bottom edge of the screen.
Click "Edit Settings." Click on "Edit" next to "Yahoo!"
Click on "Remove App." This removes the Yahoo! application from your Yahoo! Mail account. Click "Close."
