Delete Chat History in Yahoo

Yahoo Messenger, sometimes referred to as Yahoo instant messenger, is an application which supports chat on your computer. Yahoo Messenger initiates communication between your computer and another user who has the application installed on his computer. Yahoo! Messenger is also compatible with other instant messaging programs. Yahoo! Messenger can save your communications with another person, if the feature is enabled. This is known as "archiving." Yahoo! Messenger saves and organizes those chat messages and allows for easy deletion as well.

Click on the Yahoo! Messenger icon. Log in with your Yahoo! username and password.

Click on the word "Messenger" at the top of your Contact List, to expose the drop-down menu. Select "Preferences." Click on "Archive" in the "Category List."

Delete Chat History in Yahoo

Click on "Clear Archive Now" to perform a mass deletion and delete all messages ever created. Select "OK" to confirm deletion. To view and sort chat messages by user, date, etc. prior to deletion, click on "View Archive." The chat messages are sorted by "Messages," "Conferences," and "SMS Messages." Left-click and highlight each category to expose Contacts and associated messages. You can delete individual or multiple messages. Select "OK" to confirm deletion.
