Enable JavaScript for Yahoo

Enabling JavaScript in your browser lets you experience all of Yahoo Mail's interactive features, from chatting with friends directly from your inbox to applying themes to the site's interface. If you previously disabled JavaScript in your browser, you can enable it again by editing Chrome's content settings or Internet Explorer's privacy settings.
Step 1
Launch Chrome under Windows 7 or 8.1 and click on the icon with three horizontal stripes to open the Customize and Control Google Chrome menu. Select Settings.

Step 2
Select Show advanced settings to reveal the advanced Chrome settings.

Step 3
Click on the Content settings button to open a pop-up window.

Step 4
Select Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) and click on Done to finish enabling JavaScript.

Step 5
Alternatively, if you want to keep JavaScript disabled by default while allowing Chrome to run JavaScript scripts on Yahoo's website, leave the JavaScript option set to Do Not Allow Any Sites to Run JavaScript and select Manage exceptions. Enter yahoo.com under Hostname, select Allow under Behavior and click on Done.

 1
Open Internet Explorer and select Internet options from the cog menu.

 2
Select Internet from the Privacy tab to edit the default security settings Internet Explorer uses when displaying standard websites. Click on Custom level.

Step 3
Click on Enable under Scripting to allow Internet Explorer to run JavaScript scripts on all websites. Alternatively, select Prompt if you want Internet Explorer to let you manually choose whether you want to run JavaScript scripts each time you visit a website that relies on that technology. Click on OK to save your new security settings. Restart Internet Explorer.
