Send Yahoo eMail to Cell

You can use your normal Yahoo email account to send a message to a cell phone (the recipient's cellphone converts the email into a text message for them to read). The only thing you need to know is the recipient's provider and cell phone number.

Log in to your Yahoo account by entering your Yahoo ID into the first text box and your password into the second box.

Click the "New" button at the top to open an email template.

In the "To" box, type the cell phone number plus area code (10 digits total), followed by the "@" sign.

What follows the "@" sign will vary depending on the person's cell phone provider. Alltel is "message.alltel.com." AT&T is "txt.att.com." Boost is "myboostmobile.com." Nextel is "messaging.nextel.com." Sprint is "messaging.sprintpcs.com." TMobile is "tmomail.net." Verizon is "vtext.com." Virgin Mobile is "vmobl.com." So a person with the Verizon cell phone number 874-848-2939 would be emailed with the address:

8748482939@vtext.com

Enter a subject and body for the email and click "send."
