Deleted email messages in Yahoo Mail are usually transferred to the trash folder. Yahoo Mail allows users to access deleted email messages before the user decides to permanently delete the file. The good news is, if you accidentally delete an important file from the trash folder, there is still a chance to recover it.
Finding a Deleted Email in the Trash Folder
Log in to your Yahoo Mail account. Type your email ID and password in the designated boxes. Click “Sign in.”
Go to the Trash folder and scroll down while you look for the deleted email. If you have several deleted emails, browse through each page until you find it.
Use the “Mail Search” option located at the upper portion of the screen. Type the email address of the sender in the box provided or the topic of the email.
Check your "Contacts" list if you do not remember the email address of the sender. Click the “Contacts” tab and you will be directed to the contacts’ page. Look for the name of the sender and take note of his email address. If you did not save the sender’s email to your contact list, opt for the name of the sender. Type it into the search box and see if it yields any results.
Accessing Files Deleted from the Trash Folder
Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account. At the upper left corner of the screen, click “Help.”
Click on “Yahoo! Mail Classic Help Topics” and select “Emailing: The Basics.” Click the plus sign (+) beside “Deleting and Recovering Mail” and select “Restore Lost or Deleted Emails.”
Click the “Please complete this form” link beside the kind of Yahoo! Mail you are using (Classic or All New Yahoo! Mail). Fill in the form and click “Submit.”
Wait for Yahoo Mail to restore your account. You will be notified if they have done so.
