Synchronize Outlook Data with Yahoo

While keeping your different email, contacts, and calendar accounts separate might be a good way to compartmentalize your life, you might also find logging into several separate accounts to be confusing. Fortunately, Microsoft allows you to easily synchronize your data, so you can use Outlook as your central point for contacts and calendars. At one time, Yahoo offered a Sync utility that automatically synchronized your data. Unfortunately, the company no longer supports the application. However, you can manually synchronize your calendar and contacts in Outlook and Yahoo using the built-in Import/Export Wizard utility.

Sychronize Calendars
Open your Yahoo calendar.

Click "Actions" and then "Export" to open the Export Calendar dialog.

Select the calendar you want to export from the "Calendar or To Dos list" drop-down.

Click "Save" to open a Save dialog.

Select whether you want to "Open with" or "Save" the .ics file. If you choose "Open with," you need to select Outlook from the application list. Your calendar will open in Outlook. This will finish the process. If you choose "Save," you need to select a location on your hard drive to which you will save the file and then continue to the next step.

Browse to the hard drive location to which you want to save the file.

Click "Save."

Open Outlook.

Select "File," "Open," and then "Import" to open the Import/Export Wizard.

Select "Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)."
